SPYDER THINGY

March 23rd, 2007

Liz Rantanen was the February AAMUG guest speaker who told us about CRT output monitoring devices.  At our March meeting, we talked about the possibility of purchasing one as a group and sharing it. This leaves us with a few details to work out: what particular make/model to get, payment collection, and loaning it out. This is a great place to work these things out.

A little research is in order at this point, so more on the make/model and costs of each after that’s done.  After we know just how much $ is involved, we can slice up the amount and do the math. Meanwhile, let’s decide how we want to loan it out.  How long should we get to use it, how will it be returned, or passed on to the next member, should we consider a deposit to help insure its return, etc. etc.

I think these things are only for CRT monitors, if I understood correctly. Do we need to consider anything else, (like apple/PC) when choosing? I’ll ask around and report back.

About AAMUG

March 21st, 2007

Alamo Area Multimedia User Group, or AAMUG was re formed from the remnants of the old SAMCFUG/Macromedia user group that sort of fell apart late in 2005.  Since then, our group has undergone a lot of changes. Our membership went through some changes, the size of our group changed, our sponsors changed, and the structure of our meetings have changed.  Being a new group has meant that we’ve had to work hard at getting started.

AAMUG has their own website, but this is where members can leave comments or feedback, make suggestions, etc.
